NORTH LIMA -- It's time to start roasting the corn again.
The annual Beaver Township Corn Roast will offer township residents a variety of food and fun Aug. 13 at Woodworth Park.
Hours are 4:30 p.m. to dark. Admission is free.
Any group, church, business or township resident interested in participating by setting up booths to sell food or crafts should contact the township park board -- which sponsors the event -- as soon as possible.
There is no cost to set up a booth.
"Every year we get more and more people and that's great," said Scott Conway, park board chairman. "This year we'd like to expand a little bit by asking people to participate with booths and activities."
Conway said the annual event, which offers township residents free hot dogs and roasted corn, allows the township to extend some appreciation toward it residents.
"This is something we want to keep offering our residents as long as we possibly can," he said. "It's strictly for township residents, and the more who want to participate, the better."
Activities will include pony rides and a visit from a clown. There will be a magic show and music will be provided by the variety band No Clue. There will also be wood carving demonstrations.
