ACS FUND-RAISER Pink Ribbon Golf Classic planned

Winners will advance to the state tournament to be held in September in Akron.
WARREN -- American Cancer Society is holding its annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic on July 25 at Trumbull County Club, 600 Golf Drive N.E.
The four-person scramble will begin with a continental breakfast and registration at 8 a.m. before a shotgun start at 9. The 18 holes of golf will be followed by a buffet lunch, auction and raffle. There will also be a "Hit the Bloomin' Green" contest as well as a hole-in-one contest to win a trip for two to the Grand Bahama Island.
Cost is $400 per foursome, and proceeds will go toward the society's cancer research, education, advocacy and service programs.
This year's outing is being held in memory of Mary Bayman, a former classic committee member who died of cancer in July 2004, and in honor of Cherie Henn, a breast-cancer survivor and co-founder and vice president of sales and marketing for Henn Workshops in Lordstown.
Division play
The team member with the lowest index determines in which of three divisions a team will be placed. Winners of each division will have the opportunity to play in the ACS Ohio Division Golf Tournament Sept. 17 and 18 at Firestone Country Club in Akron. Winners at Firestone may advance to the National ACS Golf Tournament Oct. 28 and 29 at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
A fourth division is available for the occasional golfer without a handicap or index, but those players will be not eligible to compete at the state or national tournaments.
