HARTFORD -- Sharon Speedway will hold a Browns/Steelers race night to raise money for charity on July 16.
Former players from both teams will sign autographs at the First Annual Speedway Race for the Children.
All profits raised through sponsorship and autographs will go to the Children's Rehabilitation Center in Howland.
The Children's Rehabilitation Center is a charitable organization that serves more than 600 children every year. They offer physical, occupational, infant and speech therapies. They also offer counseling and support to the children's families.
Sharon Speedway hopes to support the new beginnings of the Children's Rehabilitation Center, which has completed an expansion and renovation project, Kate Blaney of Sharon Speedway said.
Former Steelers Louis Lipps and Robin Cole and former Browns Ricky Feacher, Judson Flint and Mike Pagel have already committed to attending. More players may attend.
Sponsorship packages begin at $50. Many include displaying and announcing of sponsor names at the race.
