One man was sent to prison for causing a hit-skip accident in 2003.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Sharpsville man will serve a prison term for robbing a Hermitage gas station in June.
Judge Christopher St. John of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Gregory Sverre, 21, of Valley View Road to five to 10 years in the state penitentiary for robbing McQuaid's Sunoco, 1726 Valley View Road, Hermitage, on June 20.
Sverre, a former station employee, threatened a clerk with a .22-caliber revolver and took $500 from a safe box. He pleaded guilty in December to felony robbery.
Gary Vukovich, 45, address given as the Mercer County Jail, received a 15- to 45-month prison term for a 2003 hit-skip accident.
He pleaded guilty to causing an accident involving death or injury, a felony, for the Oct. 15 accident at 2470 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township.
Court documents said he struck a pedestrian, then fled on foot without rendering aid or giving information.
The pedestrian, Donald Rust, had injuries severe enough to require he be flown by helicopter to a Youngstown hospital.
Others sentenced this week by Judge St. John and Judge Thomas Dobson were:
UJonathan Root, 20, of East Crestview Road, Transfer, 200 days to one year for indecent assault, a misdemeanor, for an incident with a 13-year-old girl.
URachel Bacich, 23, of Sterling Avenue, Sharon, one to two years in prison followed by three years' probation for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.
URicky Barnett, 48, of Parke Drive, Hermitage, six to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail and an unspecified length of house arrest for felony retail theft.
UMichael Lee Fisher, 44, of Stambaugh Avenue, Sharon, 23 days to 23 months in jail for felony criminal trespass. He was also given three years' concurrent probation for theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor.
UGuy Willis Harper, III, 23, of Fran Lane, Hermitage, 66 days to one year for criminal conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, followed by 11 months' probation for criminal conspiracy to possess drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
UBrian Harris, 20, of Second Avenue, Sharon, 71 days to two years in jail for simple assault and criminal conspiracy-simple assault, both misdemeanors.
ULogan Malie, 20, of Humingbird Lane, Sharpsville, was also sentenced in the same assault as Harris. He also pleaded guilty to simple assault and criminal conspiracy-simple assault, both misdemeanors, and was sentenced to 30 days to 24 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with college and work-release privileges.
URyan Anderson, 26, of Brooklyn, New York, 21 days in jail and fined $500 for drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana, both misdemeanors.
UBrian Gresley, 42, of Sheridan Street, Hermitage, six to 18 months in the Mercer County Jail for manufacture of a controlled substance, a felony, and terroristic threats, a misdemeanor.
UJennifer Schuller, 21, of Frogtown Road, Hermitage, 15 months' probation for criminal conspiracy-forgery, a misdemeanor.
