ROUNDUP Ford is new Mathews leader

Senior Tara Ford became the school's all-time leading scorer.

VIENNA -- Mathews High senior Tara Ford scored 24 points and became the all-time leading scorer in school history Thursday night, as the Mustangs defeated Pymatuning Valley, 76-44, in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.

Ford has 1,286 points for her career through Thursday's game, surpassing Holly Bortar, who had 1,282.

Sarah King added 19 points for Mathews (14-2, 8-2 NAC), while Melanie Roscoe added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Melissa Morrison finished with 10 points and five assists.

Nikki Hazlett scored 12 points to lead Pymatuning Valley (9-5, 6-4).

Mooney 62, Warren Harding 36

YOUNGSTOWN -- Amber Bodrick led Mooney with 22 points and 17 rebounds in a Steel Valley Conference game.

Kacie Kubik added 11 points and five assists for the Cardinals (8-6, 3-3 SVC), and Gina Brunetti had 12 points.

Warren Harding (6-10, 1-5) was led by Desirae Jenkins, with 12 points, and Janine McDonald, with 10.

Ursuline 41, JFK 40

WARREN -- The Fighting Irish completed an unbeaten SVC season with a close win.

Tyra Grant led Ursuline (11-3, 6-0 SVC) with 18 points, while Cierra Bennett added 11.

Alyssa Chaves scored 17 points for JFK (8-8, 2-4).

Girard 52, LaBrae 26

LEAVITTSBURG -- Cachet Murray scored 20 points and pulled in 11 rebounds, as Girard remained unbeaten.

The Indians (16-0, 10-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference) led 22-8 at halftime.

Maddie D'Orio scored eight points for LaBrae (7-9, 2-8).

Champion 39, Liberty 22

LIBERTY -- Champion, which is in second place in the TAC, prevailed in a low-scoring game.

The Golden Flashes (11-4, 8-2) led 17-9 at halftime. Jessica Wood scored 12 points to lead Champion and Elizabeth Ghindia added 11.

Darnelle Clark scored six points to lead Liberty (6-10, 2-8).

Lakeview 69, Brookfield 62, OT

BROOKFIELD -- Lakeview outscored the Warriors 12-5 in the second overtime, after Brookfield rallied from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

Chelsea Butler scored 19 points for the Bulldogs (11-5, 7-3 TAC), while Lindsay Whetzel scored 18 and Alynn Martin 11. Lakeview led 44-37 entering the fourth period.

Brookfield (11-5, 7-3) was led by freshman Morgan Bonekovic, with 20 points. Raquel Brenner added 14 points and Rachel Pasquerilla scored 12.

Hubbard 45, Newton Falls 43, OT

HUBBARD -- Hubbard trailed 30-28 starting the fourth quarter, then outscored the Tigers 8-6 to force overtime, and 9-7 in the extra session.

The Eagles (4-11, 3-7 TAC) were led by Callie Oyler, with 15 points. Shari Bullock and Shelia Drummond had 14 and 10 rebounds, respectively, for Hubbard. Newton Falls (1-14, 1-9) was led by Lindsay Calland, who scored 18 points.

South Range 45, McDonald 44

McDONALD -- Heather Stacy scored 16 points to lead South Range in an Inter-County League game.

Cindy Schuler added 14 points for the Raiders (7-10, 4-5 ICL), who outscored McDonald 11-10 in the fourth quarter.

Ashleigh Tondo scored 18 points for the Blue Devils (9-6, 5-3), while Amy Dolsak added 13.

Wellsville 58, Campbell 39

WELLSVILLE -- Sophia Brown scored 25 points, including 18 in the second half, to lead Campbell.

Brown also had 10 of the Red Devils' 41 rebounds.

Campbell (2-14) trailed 29-10 at halftime.

Jasmine Richardson had 17 points and six rebounds for Wellsville. Erin Meek added 13 points and Lindsey Householder scored 10.

Sharon 58, West Middlesex 25

WEST MIDDLESEX -- Brittany Csatlos scored 19 points to lead Sharon its 15th win. Katie Kelly added 10 for the Tigers (15-3, 12-0 District 10), who led 34-19 at halftime. Csatlos also had 13 rebounds, seven steals and seven assists.
