YOUNGSTOWN -- Taniesha Holland scored 20 points and had a fine all-around game, leading The Rayen School to a 67-45 victory over Chaney in a City Series girls basketball game Tuesday night.
The win gave the Tigers (13-2, 5-0) the City Series championship.
Holland also had nine rebounds, seven steals and nine assists.
Danielle Liggins and Kenysha Tennant added 12 points each for Rayen, while Brittany Taylor scored 11 and Rilonda Neal had 10. Liggins also had four rebounds and five steals, Tennant had seven rebounds, and Taylor and Neal had six rebounds each.
Lavielle Trevathan had 15 points and six rebounds for Chaney (8-6, 2-3), while Tiera Jones had 10 points.
GlenOak 56, Fitch 35
CANTON -- Fitch led 12-4 after the first quarter of the Federal League tournament game, but fourth-seeded GlenOak outscored the Falcons 22-9 in the second quarter and didn't trail again.
Krista Mayes scored nine points and had eight rebounds for Fitch (7-9), which will play host to Massillon Jackson on Saturday in a consolation bracket semifinal.
GlenOak (13-4) will visit top-seeded Boardman in a championship bracket semifinal on Saturday.
Youngstown Christian 58,Fairport Harbor 39
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Eagles outscored Fairport Harbor 16-0 in the second quarter for a 30-11 lead at the intermission.
Rachel Coristin led Youngstown Christian (7-7) with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Kara Cooper added 11 points and eight assists. Danielle Pecchia also scored 11 points.
Jodi Matsko and Sara Spirak scored 12 points each for Fairport Harbor (7-7).
