Grove City topples W &amp; amp;J
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Phil Bushre and J.D. Collar each scored 15 points to lead Grove City College to a 67-54 victory over Washington & amp; Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game Monday night.
Bushre also had a game-high eight rebounds for the Wolverines (10-7, 3-0 PAC), who have won five straight. Mike Lukcic added 11 points and four assists.
Brandon Studer led W & amp;J (4-13, 1-2) with 12 points.
Bethany 120, Westminster 109
WESTMINSTER, Pa. -- Mike Drahos poured in 41 points, making 15-of-19 shots, and had 13 rebounds to lead Bethany in a PAC game.
Matt Drahos added 22 points for the Bison (14-3, 2-1), and Josh Polantz scored 13. Jim Deep, Chris Stephens and Milton Joyner each scored 10, and Scott Mezyk had 13 assists.
Westminster (11-6, 1-2) was led by Craig Hannon with 21 points; Mark DeMonaco added 19. Brian Fadden scored 16 for the Titans, and Dom Joseph and Ed Pagley added 12 apiece.
Heidelberg 66, Mount Union 60
ALLIANCE -- Greg Tyson scored 15 points and Heidelberg (5-12, 2-8 Ohio Athletic Conference) scored the last six points of the game.
Chris Blakely led Mount Union (7-10, 3-7) with 18 points and 19 rebounds, and Kyle Karpinski had 14 points.
Waynesburg 83, Thiel 63
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Josh Parisi scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting for Waynesburg in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game.
Beau Wilson added 14 points for Waynesburg (8-9, 2-1); Marc Lodovico had 11 and Ryan Bujnowski had 10.
Thiel (4-13, 0-3) was led by Daryl Moore, with 18 points and seven assists. Ross Watson had 13 points and Brad Bowman pulled down seven rebounds.
Wittenberg 78, Hiram 46
HIRAM -- Daniel Russ and Kenny Brady scored 11 points apiece for Wittenberg in a North Coast Athletic Conference game.
The Tigers (15-2, 7-1) outrebounded Hiram 48-37 and forced 15 turnovers.
Phil Steffes and Pat Denbow had 10 points each for Wittenberg, which has won 10 consecutive games.
A.J. White led Hiram (3-14, 2-6) with 17 points and Carlton Dean added 15.
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Leigh Sulkowski scored 26 points and had eight rebounds, both team highs, to lead Washington & amp; Jefferson over Grove City, 70-64.
Lauren Slampak added 20 points for the Presidents (14-3, 3-0 PAC), who won for the sixth consecutive year at Grove City College Arena.
Abby Moose scored 15 points to lead Grove City (8-8, 1-2). Rachel McCoy added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Thiel 71, Waynesburg 48
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Kristen Benjamin was 9-of-13 from the floor and scored 20 points to lead Thiel.
Benjamin also tied for game-high honors with nine rebounds. Heather Abate and Ariel Venesky had 13 points each for the Tomcats (5-13, 1-2 PAC), while Fontella Jones had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Katie Lewandowski led Waynesburg (8-7, 0-3) with nine points.
Heidelberg 79, Mount Union 71
TIFFIN -- Rachel Babione scored 23 points to lead Heidelberg in an Ohio Athletic Conference game.
Amanda Campbell added 19 points and 11 rebounds for The Berg (9-7, 4-6). Katie Borngen had 15 points and five assists.
Mount Union (4-13, 1-9) was led by Ashley Bourdeau, with 22 points and nine rebounds. Lauren Friedrich added 15 points and Kyla Hogan scored 12.
Westminster 77, Bethany 50
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Desiree Sterling scored 18 points to lead Westminster to its fifth straight win.
Sterling was 8-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-3 on 3-pointers, and had five assists. Erica Tallo, Mary Jane Eaton and Cherrell Triplett all scored 12 points for the Titans (12-4, 3-0 PAC).
Bethany (6-11, 1-2) was led by Courtney Irwin with 11 points.
