Chaney routs Wilson in City Series matchup

YOUNGSTOWN -- Courtney Williams finished with 15 points, and Tiarra Jones added 11 as Chaney High defeated Woodrow Wilson 61-21 in a City Series girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Williams also finished with six steals, and Jones and Lavielle Trevathan each had seven rebounds for the Cowgirls (8-5, 2-2 City).

Chaney led 27-10 at halftime.

Anique Donlow led Wilson (1-13, 0-4) with eight points. Bethany Kotapish also scored eight points and pulled down 14 rebounds.

United 48, Western Reserve 45

BERLIN CENTER -- United trailed for almost the entire game, including by 10 in the fourth quarter, before staging a comeback.

Darlene Woolf finished with 18 points for the Golden Eagles, and she hit two 3-pointers in the fourth period, which began with Western Reserve leading 39-32.

United outscored the Blue Devils 16-6 in the final eight minutes.

Alex Rathburn led Western Reserve (4-9) with 17 points; Lainey Kekic added 14.
