DOW chief Gray is guest speaker at banquet
Steve Gray, chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife will be the guest speaker January 22 at the Mahoning County Federation of Sportsmeans Clubs annual awards banquet.
Gray, a native of Ross County, was appointed chief in Janaury 2003. He began his ODNR career in 1976 as a state wildlife officer in Central Ohio and also served as a wildlife officer in Crawford County, an information officer, executive assistant to the chief and assistant chief of the division.
As chief of the DOW, Gray oversees Ohio's fish and wildlife management programs, as well as management of more than 170,000 acres of state wildlife areas. Gray holds a bachelor's degree in wildlife management from The Ohio State University.
Gray plans to talka bout land acquistion, youth programs and fishing in northeast Ohio and Lake Erie.
The banquet will be held at the Lowellville Rod & amp; Gun Club, off Quarry Road in Lowellville.
Tickets are $14. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. preceded by a social hour at 6 p.m.
