CAMPBELL Cop call turns up drugs, gun

Published: Mon, January 10, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

CAMPBELL -- Police who were called to an apartment Sunday morning to stop a fight among a group of women arrested one of them on charges of trafficking and possession of marijuana, a Campbell Police Department spokesman said.

Marilyn Spencer, 30, of 131 Jean St., was also charged with aggravated menacing and pointing a firearm, said Sgt. Drew Rauzan of the Campbell Police Department.

Rauzan said officers received a call that a group of women was fighting, and one had made a threat with a gun. Rauzan and Patrolman John Rusnak responded to the call and separated several women who were arguing in the apartment.

The officers spotted one woman in a rear utility room and discovered 13 inidividually wrapped bags of marijuana out in the open. Spencer told the officers the marijuana was hers, Rauzan said.

A more extensive search of the apartment turned up a .22 caliber firearm, Rauzan said.
