"The Trains of Cortland" and their history will be the topic when Bob Smith addresses SCOPE Lake Vista at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lake Vista club house, 303 N. Mecca St., Cortland. Smith also will speak on the area's canals.
Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the following: Monday, outing to Cafe Capri at 11 a.m. and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting and computer classes and exercise at 10 a.m., blood pressure screening and computer class at noon and digital class at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., and yoga and 500 cards at 1; Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Diabetes Support Group at 10; blood pressure screenings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., foot doctor at 11:30; square dancing and Financial Group at 1 p.m., Investment Club at 2 and line dancing at 3; and Friday, exercise at 10 a.m. and crafts at 12:30 p.m. The center has applications for the SBC Lifeline Ohio telephone discount program for $12.38 a month to eligible applicants.
