The Kennedy Catholic graduate made a key play down the stretch.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- John Reimold, a graduate from Kennedy Catholic High, scored 22 points Thursday night to lead Bowling Green to a 69-64 win over Marshall.
Reimold got a key offensive rebound and hit Germain Fitch for a lay-up to give Bowling Green the lead for good with 48 seconds to go.
Josh Almanson and Cory Eyink joined Reimold in double-figures for Bowling Green (8-2, 2-0 MAC) with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
A.W. Hamilton led Marshall (2-9, 0-3) by tying his career-high with 17 points.
Reimold, a preseason, All-MAC selection, had 14 of his 22 points in the second half, becoming the 33rd player in Bowling Green history to score 1,000 points.
Toledo 70, Akron 59
TOLEDO -- Justin Ingram had 14 points and Sammy Villegas scored 13 off the bench to help Toledo.
Keith Triplett made three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Rockets (5-6, 1-1), who made 9-of-22 3-pointers.
Darryl Peterson had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Zips (7-4, 1-2), and Romeo Travis pitched in 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Buffalo 83, Central Michigan 67
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Turner Battle scored 22 points and dished out nine assists to lead Buffalo.
The Chippewas (6-5, 1-2) took an early second-half lead on two 3-pointers by Kevin Nelson.
But Buffalo responded with a 17-0 run that lasted more than six minutes.
Central Michigan never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way as the Buffalo (8-3, 1-2) defense clamped down to force 21 Chippewa turnovers.
