NAACP Mayor will install branch officers Sunday

WARREN -- Mayor Michael O'Brien will install the new officers of the Warren/Trumbull County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People during a meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday at Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries Church of God in Christ, 789 Hoyt St. S.W.

The Rev. Gerald Morgan will be installed as president for a two-year term. Taking office as his associate officers will be the Rev. Kevin Parks, first vice president; the Rev. Ronald Fowlis, second vice president; Colette Parker, secretary; and Sterling Williams, treasurer.

Executive committee members also to be installed are Shirley Brady, assistant secretary; Van D. Nelson Jr., assistant treasurer; and committee members William Mullane, Darryl Parker, Cassandra Pruitt, Harold Smith and Maggie Watson.

The local office of the NAACP is located at 2051 Niles Road. For information call (330) 369-1441.

Regular membership meetings are held at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month beginning in February.
