Westminster downed upset-minded Case Western by four.
CLEVELAND -- Pat O'Connor scored a team-high 23 points to lead the Westminster College men's basketball team to a 113-109 non-conference win at Case Western Reserve University on Monday.
The Titans improved to 10-3 overall, including 9-0 when they reach 100 points. Case Western Reserve fell to 2-7.
Ed Pagley added 17 points for Westminster, while Dom Joseph scored 15 and had a team-high nine rebounds.
Mark DeMonaco had 13 points, while Chris Hatch and Craig Hannon had 11 each.
Case Western's Funso Lafe led all scorers with 36 points.
Fairmont St. 78, Hiram 72
FAIRMONT, W. Va. -- Junior A.J. White returned from a three-week study trip to the Honduras, leading Hiram with 24 points and five assists in a losing cause.
Carlton Dean added 16 points and Chuck Williams scored a career-high 12 points, making 4-of-8 on 3-pointers.
Hiram (2-9) trailed 35-25 at halftime and by as many as 24 points in the second half.
Penn State-Behrend 58,Allegheny 51
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Penn State Behrend closed with an 11-4 run to break from a 47-all tie in the final eight minutes.
Matt Majzlik scored a team-high 16 points for the Gators (3-7), who out-rebounded Behrend 32-27. Bill Babe and Casey McCloskey each scored 11 for Allegheny.
The Lions (4-4) were led by Doug Merski with 16 points.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Senior forward Erica Tallo posted team-high totals of 17 points and 12 rebounds -- her sixth double-double of the season -- to lead the Westminster College women's basketball team to a 67-64 non-conference win over Carnegie Mellon.
Desiree Sterling added 12 points for the Titans (8-4), and Alyson Gasper finished with nine assists.
Carnegie-Mellon (4-6) was led by Lisa Seacat, with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds.
