Howland SCOPE Senior Center has the following activities planned: free public lectures from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 11 on prescription drug assistance and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Jan. 13 on Social Security and Anthem insurance; a card party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12, cost is $5 per person; and Carousel Dinner Theatre on Jan. 25 to see "Honky Tonk Angels," cost is $60 per person.
Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the following: Monday, bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting class and exercise at 10 a.m. and blood pressure screening at noon; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., and yoga and 500 cards at 1; Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Hugs and Stitches sewing group at 10, blood pressure screenings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 p.m., and line dancing at 3; and Friday, exercise at 10 a.m. and crafts at 12:30 p.m. The center has applications for the SBC Lifeline Ohio telephone discount program for $12.38 a month to eligible applicants.
