Modeling history

Second-graders at St. Charles School in Boardman studied about a positive historic or contemporary figure and then dressed as that person Thursday. Pupils gave a two-minute, first-person speech on the person they chose. Above, David Hughes Sr., right, adjusts the beard of Abraham Lincoln, also known as his son, David Hughes Jr. , 7, of Boardman. Right, Carly Winterburn, 8, of Canfield was Jackie Kennedy for a day. Marta Spahija, 8, of Boardman was St. Therese. Below, Jessica Parillo, 8, learned about female aviator Amelia Earhart.
