Trumbull County commissioners met Wednesday and addressed these agenda items:
Adjusted the contract amount by $29,961 to $129,525 for MS Consultants of Youngstown, which is preparing plans for a bridge replacement project over Yankee Creek in Brookfield Township. Some additional engineering work is required for items such as utility coordination, an asbestos survey, and a stormwater pollution and prevention plan.
Revised the legal weight limit for the steel truss bridge on South Canal Street in Newton Township. The structure was closed last week while emergency repairs are made. When completed within the next few weeks, it will maintain a 3-ton weight limit; now that is reduced by 40 percent.
Approved the Trumbull County Children Services Board's purchase of property at 2328 Reeves Road N.E., Howland, previously owned by John Malozzi, for $87,000. The property is adjacent to the agency and needed for the future use of its clients; Children Services' capital improvement fund is the source of money.
Changed the name of Youngstown Conneaut Road in Hartford Township to Deer Haven Trail at the request of Tom and Sarah Litman. This begins at King Graves Road and ends north at Thompson Sharpsville Road. The change was reviewed by the county engineer and planning commission.
