BOYS BASKETBALL Poland stops Rayen, 80-62 behind Fender, Shurilla

Warren Harding won its 18th game, while Canfield and Ursuline were winners.
POLAND -- Chad Fender and Jim Shurilla combined for 44 points and Poland led Rayen from start to finish in an 80-62 victory in boys regular season basketball action Tuesday.
Fender led the way for the Bulldogs (17-2) with 24 points while Shurilla added 20. Dominic Crosby paced Rayen (8-11) with 28 points.
Fender also pulled down seven rebounds, while Cameron Marchese added six assists and five steals. Poland shot 46 free throws in the contest.
Warren Harding 83, Campbell 53
CAMPBELL -- Warren Harding jumped out to a 21-10 first quarter lead then coasted past Campbell for its 18th victory of the season.
The Raiders (18-1) and ranked No. 3 in the latest Associated Press Division I poll, was led by Mario Manningham with 18 points, while Steve Williams added 16 and Bruce Allen 15.
Campbell (12-6) was led by Terrance Phillips with 14 and Teyon Harris with 11.
Canfield 66, Mooney 50
CANFIELD -- Kyle Melewski tossed in 18 points including four 3-point goals to lead Canfield to an easy victory over Cardinal Mooney.
After a first quarter 13-13 deadlock Canfield just gradually pulled away from Mooney increasing its lead in every quarter.
Canfield improved to 14-5 with the victory.
Mooney (4-15) was led by Tony Brunetti who had 21 points and also connected on four 3-point goals.
Ursuline 55, Kennedy Catholic 43
YOUNGSTOWN -- D'Aundray Brown scored 14 points, all of them in the second half as Ursuline turned back Kennedy Catholic.
The Irish (16-3) trailed 23-19 at halftime, but outscored the Eagles 15-4 in the third period as Brown scored seven of the points. Jerome Jones added 13 points and six rebounds and Terry Vidale tacked on 10 points.
Kennedy Catholic (18-6) was led by Blair Rozenblad with 17 points and Shamus Reimold with 11.
Struthers 70, Chaney 56
STRUTHERS -- Struthers broke open a close game with a big fourth quarter and turned back Chaney.
The Wildcats led only 41-40 going into the final period, but outscored the Cowboys 29-16 in the final quarter to notch their sixth win against 13 losses.
Dave Mathews led the Wildcats with 21 points, while Mike Duponty added 16.
Chaney (3-16) was led by Jeremy Tomlin with 16 and Evan Busch with 15.
Hudson 60, Fitch 53
AUSTINTOWN -- Hudson held off a second-half rally by Fitch to post the victory.
The Falcons (9-10) trailed only 42-40 entering the final quarter, but were outscored 18-13 in the last eight minutes.
Jake Wallace led the Falcons with 22 points, while Ty Eargle added 14.
