Tondo, Dolsak lead McDonald past Southington, 54-43

McDONALD -- Ashleigh Tondo poured in 25 points and Amy Dolsak added 14, leading McDonald High to a 54-43 girls basketball victory over Southington on Saturday.

Dolsak also had 12 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils (12-8), who led 35-18 at halftime.

Southington is 9-10.

The game was rescheduled from Jan. 22, when it was postponed by poor weather.

Boardman 62, Poland 20

POLAND -- Emily Hays scored 13 points to lead Boardman in a nonleague game.

The Spartans (17-2) led 35-13 at halftime.

For Poland (6-14), Alex Rokicki scored 12 points.

Champion 54, Struthers 29

STRUTHERS -- Jaclyn Carpenter scored 14 points to lead Champion.

Heather Pegg and Elizabeth Ghindia added 13 points apiece for the Golden Flashes (14-6), while Jessica Wood scored 10.

Brianne Ciccone, Halle Minchin-Skook and Liz Valerio all scored eight points to pace Struthers (5-15).
