A summary of recent criminal activity in Austintown:

Jan. 31

Theft from vehicle: Compact discs were stolen from a vehicle in the 60 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: A man was charged with shoplifting at Sheetz Gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft from auto: A purse was stolen from a vehicle at Panera Bread, 5503 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A window was entered and the residence ransacked at an apartment in the 6000 block of Calloway Circle.

Illegal dumping: A man is accused of illegal dumping in the 5000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Feb. 1

Auto theft: A 1990 Buick Century was stolen from the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Drug offense: An Austintown man and woman were arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Theft: A washer-dryer was stolen from the 200 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Theft: Coins were stolen from coin boxes at a residence in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Feb. 2

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at Certified Oil, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Feb. 3

Theft: A gold ring was stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Criminal mischief: A Christmas tree was placed on a front porch of a home in the 5000 block of Madrid Drive.

Theft: Gasoline was reported stolen from the BP gas station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Feb. 4

Theft: A Jeep hardtop was stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Four Seasons Trail.

Theft from auto: A stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Paisley Street.

Feb. 5

Theft from auto: A stereo and a tool belt were taken from an automobile at O'Donold's, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was hit by paint balls in the 5000 block of Madrid Drive.

Theft from auto: An AM-FM CD stereo and 40 compact discs were stolen from the 1000 block of Paisley Street.

Theft from auto: An AM-FM CD player was stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft from auto: A tan leather purse was stolen from an automobile at Perkins, 5550 Interstate Blvd.

Attempted theft from auto: A vehicle was damaged, but nothing was taken at Best Value, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was arrested on charges of drug abuse of marijuana after being stopped in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Drug offense: A Poland man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and harassing a police dog.

Feb. 6

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Burglary: A camera was stolen during a break-in of a house in the 4000 block of Lake Road.
