Fourth-quarter defense carries Columbiana

COLUMBIANA -- When Jerry Einseidel and Jordan Reynolds combined for nine points in the final minutes of the third quarter for the Crestview High School boys basketball team, it appeared to set up a wild final 8 minutes with Columbiana.
Instead, Columbiana's defense took over.
The Clippers contested every shot Friday in the fourth quarter as they pulled away for a 57-46 Tri-County League victory.
Crestview (3-15, 2-9 TCL) was scoreless in the fourth quarter until Travis Gustafson hit a basket with 3:40 to play.
At one point in the fourth quarter, Columbiana (11-6, 8-4) held a 15-point lead.
Eric Ostrander and Dave Vitko led Columbiana with 12 points apiece. Vitko scored 11 of his points in the first half, including three 3-pointers.
"Ostrander was huge on the boards, and Vitko gave us some early offense," Columbiana boys coach Herman Miller said.
Einseidel led the Rebels with 14 points.
Reynolds and Andy Walton both scored 10.
