WARREN -- A pasta cook-off will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., on Feb. 13 to raise funds for the church's donation to the American Heart Association's 2005 Heart Walk.
Cost of the two-hour cook-off is $8 for adults and $4 for children, with a $24 family maximum for parents and their school-aged children.
The event will feature pasta from local restaurants including Leo's, Station Square, Abruzzi's, Alberini's, DiVieste's, Imperial, McMenamy's, Raptis, Salvatore's, Sunrise, Vernon's, O'Donald's and Caballo Bayou.
A new award has been created this year, "The People's Choice Award." The winner will be determined by the amount of votes a restaurant receives from the general public. Each vote costs $1.
Amateur pasta cooks will also showcase their creations.
Homemade wine and desserts will complete the meals. This year the dessert competition will be sponsored by The French Street Cafe, located in Howland. Celebrity judge will vote for best pasta and dessert.
Event coordinator is Ron Fenstermaker of Blessed Sacrament.
