Casserole meal set
YOUNGSTOWN -- Hungarian Presbyterian Church (Calvin Center), 755 Mahoning Ave., will hold an Ash Wednesday casserole dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Those planning to attend should bring a casserole dish (vegetable, salad or potato). Meat and dessert will be provided.

Church to show 'Gone'
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road., will show the movie "Gone" at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13.
In this post-apocalyptic thriller, Dirk Been and Joel Klug, star as tenacious lawyers who are sent to Manila to defend a multinational corporation but instead meet their fate in the last days of the Earth.
Great calamities occur while the characters size up the world, humanity and finally, God, in this intelligent and fast-paced drama.
The movie is free and open to the public.
Memorial tea scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ebenezer Church of God In Christ, 566 W. Indianola Ave., presents its 49th Annual Georgiana Lynch Memorial Calendar Tea from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27.
The tea will feature speakers Rev. Martha Elaine Taylor, pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, and Mr. Henry Holden from L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
This year's theme is "Alive in 2005, The Year of Abundant Life, The Triumphant Through Adversity!"
The event will be hosted by the Rev. Ernest and Lenora Walker.
Dinner to include polenta
LIBERTY -- St. Rocco's Episcopal Church, 239 Trumbull Ave., is hosting a dinner of homemade spaghetti, cavatelli, sausage and polenta from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The cost for adults is $6, children 6 to 12 years old $3, and children 5 years old and younger are free. Carry-out is available.

Youth Sunday celebrated
EAST PALESTINE -- Grace Lutheran Church, at Grant and Walnut Streets, will celebrate Youth Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The young people of the congregation will read the lessons, serve as greeters, ushers and acolytes, and provide music.
After the service, the youth will be at the doors with soup bowls to receive an offering. This year, the money will go toward Grace Food Pantry. It will be followed with a pizza party for the youths.

Imposition of Ashes
NORTH LIMA -- Good Hope Lutheran, 12030 Market St., will have the Imposition of Ashes available during the day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Ashes also will be distributed again at 7 p.m. with Communion.
Lenten suppers will be served at 6 p.m. every Wednesday starting Feb. 16 through March 16. Midweek services will follow at 7 p.m.
GodQuest retreat set
CANFIELD -- GodQuest will hold a Christian Silent Retreat for women March. 11-13, at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road.
The Silent Retreat, which starts at 5 p.m. Friday and ends at the same time Sunday, offers a time to be alone with God for an extended period for prayer, writing, Scripture reading, nature and quiet reflection. The program includes group worship and spiritual direction.
GodQuest Christian retreats are nondenominational and are open to all women.
GodQuest was formed in 1996 in Butler, Pa., and holds seven retreats a year. Other locations are Skaneateles, N.Y., Ludlow, Pa., Mansfield, Ohio, and Huron, Ohio.
The cost of the retreat includes two nights private lodging with two meals and programs. The deadline for registration is Feb. 18.

Pancake supper Tuesday
BOARDMAN-- Boardman Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will hold a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The cost for adults is $4, and the cost for children under 10 is $2.
The church also will hold an Ash Wednesday prayer vigil from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. .Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. There will be a light dinner with devotions at 6:15 p.m.
