BIG TEN ROUNDUP \ Saturday's other games

Michigan State 75, Iowa 64
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Kelvin Torbert scored 16 points to help Michigan State hold off a late Iowa rally. The Spartans (15-4, 6-2 Big Ten) led by 22 points early in the second half and seemed to be coasting. But Iowa drew as close as three points with a little more than a minute left before fading. The Hawkeyes (15-6, 3-5) dismissed leading scorer Pierre Pierce from the team Tuesday for off-court legal troubles. Adam Haluska picked up the scoring slack with a season-high 24 points.
Minnesota 60, Wisconsin 50
MINNEAPOLIS -- Vince Grier scored 26 of his career-high 32 points in the second half to lead Minnesota (16-6, 6-3 Big Ten). Grier went 12-for-14 after halftime, matching the Badgers' second-half total by himself. Mike Wilkinson led Wisconsin (15-5, 6-3) with 14 points.
Northwestern 67, Purdue 61
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Vedran Vukusic scored 21 points and Northwestern built a big lead before holding off a furious second-half rally. Purdue (5-15, 1-8 Big Ten), which fought its way back from a 20-point deficit in the second half, lost for the ninth time in 10 games and still doesn't have a road win. Carl Landry, the Big Ten's leading scorer at 19 points per game, led Purdue with 12. T.J. Parker chipped in 18 for Northwestern, which was 22-of-26 from the line compared to only 3-for-5 for the Boilermakers.
