Hubbard gets by Liberty in 42-39 overtime victory

HUBBARD -- Shelia Drummond scored 16 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead Hubbard High to a 42-39 overtime victory over Liberty in a Trumbull Athletic Conference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Tressa Scohill scored all five of the Eagles' (5-12, 4-8 TAC) points in the extra period.

Hubbard trailed 14-8 in a low-scoring first half.

Kathie Greaf and Michelle Dykes scored 10 points each for Liberty (6-12, 2-10).

Brookfield 62, Newton Falls 35

NEWTON FALLS -- Raquel Brenner tossed in 22 points for Brookfield in a TAC game.

Morgan Bonekovic added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Warriors (13-5, 9-3). Rachel Pasquerilla had six assists.

Newton Falls (3-15, 2-10) was led by Lindsey Calland, who scored 12 points.

Mathews 72, Bloomfield 34

NORTH BLOOMFIELD -- Tara Ford led Mathews in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game with 22 points.

Melanie Roscoe added 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs (16-2, 10-2), while Sarah King scored 12 points.

Melissa Morrison had five assists for Mathews.

Bloomfield (1-15, 0-12) was led by Suzy Warren's 16 points.
