BOYS DISTRICT ROUNDUP Brunetti paces Mooney in win

The Cardinals beat Wilson in non-league matchup as three score at least 12.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Tony Brunetti scored 18 points to lead three Mooney High players in double figures, as the Cardinals defeated Wilson 63-53 in a non-league boys basketball game on Tuesday.
Jaron Howell added 13 points and Dom Daltorio scored 12 for Mooney (3-13). L.J. Sutton had 10 rebounds and Desmond Marrow five assists for the Cardinals.
Wilson (3-14) was led by Justin Maxwell, with 16 points, and Derek Maddon, with 12.
Ursuline 57, Ash. Lakeside 37
YOUNGSTOWN -- Nick McCartney scored 14 points and Dave Simon added 11 for the Irish (12-3).
Ursuline led 36-13 at halftime. Jerome Jones had 12 rebounds for the Irish.
Starros Mermis led Lakeside (3-11) with nine points.
Rayen 68, Vision Quest 57
YOUNGSTOWN -- Deon Elliot scored 21 points to lead Rayen.
Marcell Finkley added 16 points for the Tigers (7-8), who trailed 30-27 at halftime. Rayen tied the score at 46-all entering the final period, in which the Tigers outscored Vision Quest 22-11.
Dominic Crosby scored 14 points for Rayen.
Durell Lipford and Shawn Merritt scored 14 points each for Vision Quest (10-10).
Campbell 67, Chaney 55
CAMPBELL -- Campbell trailed 33-30 at halftime, but outscored Chaney 19-7 in the third quarter to take control.
Teyon Harris scored 27 points for the Red Devils (12-4), while Trey Soares added 14 and Louie Samonas 10.
Chaney (3-12) was led by Jeremy Tomlin's 15 points. Kory Jackson added 13.
Canton McKinley 74, Boardman 40
CANTON -- The Spartans were led by Dan Martin, who scored eight points, in the first round of the Federal League tournament. McKinley (15-1) led 35-17 at halftime.
Lake 52, Fitch 43
UNIONTOWN -- James Wallace scored 24 points for Fitch (8-8) in Federal League tournament.
Lake (13-4) led 23-19 at halftime.
Canfield 77, Struthers 54
STRUTHERS -- Kyle Melewski scored 16 points to lead Canfield in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Jordan Ferns added 14 points for the Cardinals (11-5, 7-3). Mike Duponty scored 13 points for Struthers (4-11, 1-8).
Niles 57, Alliance 53
NILES -- Bill Frech poured in 21 points to lead Niles in a MAC game.
The Red Dragons (8-8, 4-5) also got 10 points each from Jake Schimley and Andrew Cleary.
Bylynn Hatcher led Alliance (10-5, 6-3) with 15 points. Jermaine Pleasant added 13 and Dom McLendon scored 12.
Minerva 62, West Branch 49
MINERVA -- Minerva outscored the Warriors 18-6 in the third quarter to erase a three-point deficit.
Jared Hoffman led West Branch (5-11) with 12 points, while Shane Young added 11 points and eight rebounds. Andy Pappas had 10 points and five assists. Wade Rittenhouse led Minerva (9-7) with 19 points.
Kennedy Catholic 72,West Middlesex 50
WEST MIDDLESEX -- Blair Rozenblad scored 16 points and four other teammates scored in double digits to lead Kennedy Catholic to a District 10 victory.
Brandon Mirizio and David Jackson each scored 14 points for Kennedy (14-5 10-1 District 10). Jason Lane and Shamus Reimold each scored 12 points. Jackson and Rozenblad each had 11 rebounds. Mirizio had six assists.
Farrell 93, Summit Academy 43
FARRELL -- Domonique Blackwell scored 16 points and Farrell scored 41 in the third quarter to finish the District 7, Section 2 season at 12-0.
Ramone Williams scored 14 points and Phillip Tinkins added 12 and Josh Williams 11 for Farrell (17-3, 12-0).
Anthony Rosser and Anthony Johnson each scored 14 points for Summit (4-16, 1-9).
