CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

"Scissors, Gluesticks, and Tape, Oh My." Crafts galore for school-age children at Austintown, 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

"Come and Join the Fun: School Stories." Listen to stories about school and make a pencil cup for children ages 3-6 at Boardman, 10 a.m. Sept. 14. Please bring an empty plastic yogurt cup. Parents must accompany children.

"School is Cool." Stories and craft for school-age children at Brownlee Woods, Sept. 21; Campbell, Sept. 22; and Struthers, Sept. 19. All at 4 p.m.

"I Don't Wanna Go To School." Stories, games and craft for school-age children at Main Library, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

"Come to a Party: Puppets, Puppets, Puppets." To honor the top readers from Summer Reading - a puppet show and craft for children of all ages at Boardman, 7 p.m. Sept. 19. Parents must accompany preschool children. Refreshments provided by the Friends of Boardman Library.

"Come & amp; Join the Fun." Stories and more fun for children ages 3-6 at Austintown and Boardman, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesdays; Canfield, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays; and Poland, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

"Tales for Toddlers." Stories and fun for children ages 2-3 at Austintown, 10 and 11 a.m. Sept. 8; Boardman, 10 a.m. Sept. 27; Canfield, 1 p.m. Sept. 14; Main Library, 3 p.m. Sept. 24; and Poland, 10 and 11 a.m. Sept. 8. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.

"Animals on Parade." Stories and craft about animals for children ages 3-6 at Brownlee Woods, Sept. 16; and Struthers, Sept. 14. Both at 10 a.m.

"Amazing Autumn." Fall stories, games and craft for children of all ages at Canfield, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29; and Greenford, 2 p.m. Sept. 24.

"What's in the Box???" Stories, games and craft for children ages 3-6 at Main Library, 7 p.m. Sept. 13, 10 a.m. Sept. 14, 7 p.m. Sept. 27 and 10 a.m. Sept. 28.

"The Name Game." Stories, games and craft for the whole family at Main Library, 4 p.m. Sept. 24.

"Tween Scene." Make-it and take-it-solve a puzzle and make a craft for tweens in grades 4-6 at Poland, Sept. 17, during library hours. (Join us the third Saturday of every month during library hours.)

"Kidz Zone-Zoom into Fun." Stories, craft and fun for grades K-3 at Poland, 4 p.m. Sept. 22.

"Celebrity Pajama Jam: Sleepytime Fun for the Whole Family." Listen to stories read by Angee Shaker, WYTV news anchor, at Poland, 7-7:30 p.m. Sept. 26. Wear your p.j.'s.

"Something Special." Stories and more fun for ages 3-6 at Sebring, 10 a.m. Sept. 22.

"Guess What's Happening." Stories, craft and more for children in grades K-6 at South, Sept. 22; and West, Sept. 21. Both 4 p.m.

"Kids Korner." Stories and craft for children ages 2-6 at West, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14. Child must be accompanied by an adult.

"Time for Babies and Books." Books, songs, rhymes, and more for children ages 6-12 mos. at 9:30 a.m. and for children ages 13-23 mos. at 10:30 a.m., at Boardman, Sept. 1; and for children ages 6-23 mos. at Austintown, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15; Canfield, 1 p.m. Sept. 19; and Poland, 10 and 11 a.m. Sept. 7. An adult must accompany each child.

"Family Story Time." Stories and more for the family at Austintown, 7 p.m. Sept. 13. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Teen Programs

"Locker Pockets." Make a couple of cool locker organizers out of old jeans--bring your own or use ours for grades 7-12 at Main Library, 4 p.m. Sept. 29.

"Pizza Taste." Help us choose Boardman's best pizza for grades 7-12 at Boardman, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20.

"Denim Pocket Purses." Make a hip handbag from your hip pocket! These pants can really travel. Bring in an old pair of blue jeans and go home with a new purse for grades 7-12 at Austintown, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20.

"Fall is Here." Guess the number of acorns and buckeyes in our jar, and you could win a prize for grades 7-12 at Canfield and Sebring, Sept. 1-30, during library hours.

"Cover Those Books." Materials needed to cover your textbooks will be available during the first week of school for grades 7-12 at East, Poland, South, and West, Sept. 6-10, during library hours while supplies last.

"Totally Trippin' Tie-Dye." Make your own totally psychedelic bandana or t-shirt for grades 7-12 at Brownlee Woods, Sept. 28; Campbell, Sept. 20; and Struthers, Sept. 12. All at 6 p.m.

"Friends of the Library Meetings." "Reuben's Readers Book Discussion Group." Informal group of library patrons who meet and discuss the books they've read during the past month at Poland, 10 a.m. Sept. 9.

"Free Blood Pressure Screenings" by the Mahoning Chapter, American Red Cross, will be held at Austintown, 1-3 p.m. Sept. 21; Boardman, 12:30-3 p.m. Sept. 6; Canfield, 12:30-3:30 p.m. Sept. 15; Poland, 1-4 p.m. Sept. 27; and Struthers, 1-4 p.m. Sept. 20.

"Free Blood Pressure/Health Screenings" by the Original Visiting Nurse Association of Mahoning County at Main Library, 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 22; South, 1-3 p.m. Sept. 13; and West, 1-3 p.m. Sept. 20.

"Grant Center: Proposal Writing Basics." Presented by Bill Kirker, Director of Development at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, Pennsylvania. Intended for representatives of nonprofit organizations new to the proposal writing process, this program will provide an introductory overview of the process at Main Library, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
