Published: Tue, August 23, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

WARREN -- A "Reelin' by the River" fishing derby for children ages 6-12 will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday on the banks of the Mahoning River near Warren Community Amphitheater in Perkins Park.

Participants should take their own fishing poles and tackle. Bait will be provided. Children must be accompanied by adults.

Other activities will include a casting derby, a stone-skipping tournament at 5 p.m., an interactive learning station called "What's Buggin' You?," crafts and face painting.

"Reelin' by the River" sponsors are Mahoning River Consortium, the Muskies Inc., Eastgate Regional Council of Governments and Trumbull County Planning Commission.

After the derby, a free concert by bluegrass band Clear Fork will be at 7:30 p.m., also at the amphitheater. It's part of the summer entertainment series by Fine Arts Council Trumbull County.
