XTUCSON, Ariz. -- Mr. and Mrs. John Mulholland of Tucson, formerly of Youngstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 9 in Bridlington, England, with Jean and Ron Courtney, with whom they have been friends for 59 years, and with relatives in Wales.
They were married on that date in 1955 at Coitsville Presbyterian Church.
In conjunction with the anniversary, the Mulhollands took a cruise to Alaska in May. They also took a trip in July to Branson, Mo., with their children, David and Carol Mulholland of Youngstown, Scot and Sheri Mulholland of Chicago, and Dori and Roger Wright of Tucson. There are seven grandchildren in the family.
For 17 years Mr. Mulholland owned Mulholland Roofing and Home Repair and was a volunteer fireman in Austintown. He was a member of the Optimist Club, and is a member of Youngstown Lodge 615. He was part owner of a sheet metal shop in Tucson.
Mrs. Mulholland was a member of Meander Golf League, Austintown Fire Department Auxiliary and the Austintown Garden Club.
The couple were also members of Austintown Community Church and the Saxon Club. They have traveled extensively since retiring 10 years ago and spend much of their time at their cottage on Lake Erie.
