Latest bare-toe trend is for buffed nails
Just when you think you've found the perfect shade of toenail polish to pop from under your sandals, the capricious trends shift gears. Fashion's new look of feet is buff, Vogue magazine reports.
But if you lose the color, don't lose the foot care. The New York pedicurists pushing the bare-toe idea say buffing the nails smoothes them out, raises the circulation and usually turns them a natural pink.
Bastien Gonzalez, a nail man who flies in from Paris to treat his American clientele, uses a dentist drill to polish nails.
The celebrity leading the pack here is Sarah Jessica Parker, who goes polish free on her hands and feet. Observers say she usually has so much going on with her clothes, the bare nails seem appropriate.
