MAHONING COUNTY Commissioners meeting

Mahoning County commissioners handled these items Thursday:

Approved an additional $10,200 for MS Consultants for construction management services for the Shields Road-West Boulevard intersection project, to be funded with federal dollars.

Approved the closing of Alliance-Sebring Road in Smith Township between Oyster and Bandy roads Aug. 23 to Sept. 6 for a culvert replacement.

Supported a Mill Creek MetroParks application for Clean Ohio Conservation Program Funds.

Approved a $48,975 contract with Joseph Painting Contractors of Boardman for emergency repairs to a crumbling cornice on the back side of the Mahoning County Courthouse.

Approved a memorandum of understanding with the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Mahoning Valley for coordinating post-disaster operations. The agency had done initial damage assessments and recovery operations within hours after natural disasters for more than six years.
