WARREN -- Tom Begert-Clark of Warren was recently honored by the Ohio Association of Adult Day Services.
The Andree Bognar Award is in recognition of valuable contributions to the association and his work in the field of eldercare. Begert-Clark serves as the president of the association, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as a state association.
The Ohio Association of Adult Day Services represent more than 130 adult day centers throughout Ohio.
"Adult day services in Ohio and nationally not only meet the tremendous needs of our aging populations and their caregivers, but offer the state and federal governments a tremendous savings to the Medicaid budget," Begert-Clark said.
During the conference he called for continued efforts to maintain and increase Ohio's Medicaid Waiver Program so that all Ohio elderly will be able to receive assistance through adult day services, while remaining in their homes and avoiding costly, early long-term placement.
Begert-Clark is also president of Evan As We Speak, a company that provides consulting, training and motivational speaking.
