Surprise dinner held to celebrate Conways' 50th

XBEAVER TOWNSHIP -- Jimmie D. and Barbara A. Conway of East Western Reserve Road celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner with family and friends held at The Woodworth Church of the Brethren.

In attendance were the couple's children, Douglas Conway of Boardman, Scott Conway of Woodworth, Brian and Monica Conway of Columbiana and Beth Conway of Boardman, and their two grandsons.

The former Barbara Lewis and Mr. Conway were married Aug. 1, 1955, at The Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman.

Mr. Conway worked for Borden Milk Co. in Boardman for 43 years. He was a former police chief of the Beaver Township Police Department in the 1970s and finished his law enforcement career as a special police constable with the Boardman Township Police Department. Mrs. Conway is a homemaker.

The couple are members of The Woodworth Church of the Brethren.

The couple will be continuing their celebration in Las Vegas, Nev.
