Judge orders rocker Loveto show up for court date
LOS ANGELES -- Courtney Love has been ordered to appear in court later this month to face an allegation that she violated her probation in an assault case by being under the influence of a controlled substance. Superior Court Judge Rand S. Rubin issued a bench warrant for Love's arrest, but agreed to hold it pending the hearing set for next Friday. During that hearing, a date will be set for another hearing to decide whether Love, 41, violated probation. Prosecutors said the possible violation involved a narcotic, but didn't identify it. Love, the former lead singer for the band Hole and the widow of Kurt Cobain, wasn't at Wednesday's hearing. She pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge Feb. 10. Rubin also said he wanted a report from Love's drug counselor.
For 'Idol' Underwood, home, showers are great
OKLAHOMA CITY -- There's nothing like a soothing shower after a long night on the road. Just ask "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood. "The first thing I did this morning when we got in was take a shower," said the 22-year-old singer, whose tour bus rolled into Oklahoma early Wednesday. "We'd been on the bus all night, so I really needed one." Underwood has been performing on the "American Idols" concert tour. Gov. Brad Henry presented her with a replica of highway signs posted outside her hometown of Checotah. The signs read: "Checotah, Home of Carrie Underwood, American Idol 2005." "It's so good to be home," Underwood said. The best thing about her experience as an "American Idol" winner, she said, is that "I just get to do what I love every single day."
Judge extends orderinvolving Farrell video
LOS ANGELES -- A judge has extended a temporary restraining order barring an ex-girlfriend of Colin Farrell from marketing a tape of them having sex. Farrell's lawsuit against Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain says they made the videotape 2 1/2 years ago with the understanding that it would never be made public. Last month, Superior Court Judge David Yaffe blocked Narain from selling, distributing or displaying the 15-minute tape. On Wednesday, Yaffe extended the order. The lawsuit by Farrell, 29, accused the 31-year-old woman of working with the owner of an Internet pornography business and contacting the press about the tape. Leodis Matthews, a lawyer for Narain, said her client had not attempted to profit from the tape, but wanted to keep her half of the rights to the video.

NEW YORK -- Pharrell Williams of the Grammy-winning production duo The Neptunes tops Esquire's second annual list of the "Best Dressed Men in the World." Esquire credits Williams with "injecting dressed-up luxury into hip-hop style and thereby influencing a new generation of guys to consider more than just a pair of baggy jeans a reflection of their youthful vitality." Williams, 32, tells the magazine: "It's never about whether I'm the best-dressed guy in the room. I never go, 'Oh, I'm killin' 'em tonight!' Instead it's about comfort and the flow." Andre 3000, ranked No. 1 last year, dropped to No. 5. Other best-dressed men include Jake Gyllenhaal, Kanye West, Jude Law, George Clooney, Matt Lauer, Josh Lucas, Jay-Z, pro quarterback Tom Brady, Luke Wilson, Paul Bettany, former President Clinton and Donald Trump.
NEW YORK -- Judith Rossner, who in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" and other novels relentlessly analyzed educated women amid the fear and freedom of social and sexual revolutions, died Tuesday. She was 70.
