XSTEUBENVILLE -- Mayan Riviera in Mexico was the honeymoon destination of Derek Pielech and his bride, the former Stacie Banfield, following their wedding at 2 p.m. July 8 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Monsignor Gerald Calovini officiated, and a reception was held afterward at the Davis Center in Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.
The daughter of Melanie Banfield, 2272 Renwick Drive, Poland, and the late Earl Banfield, and the son of Joe and Shirley Pielech of Rayland, live at 96 Tipperary Drive, Asheville, N.C.
The bride's white A-line gown was designed with an empire waist and trimmed with bangles and pearls.
Wisteria gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Lori Bullen of Boardman, and the bridesmaids, Chris Notareschi of Poland and Holly Zelonish of Canfield.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's father, and serving as groomsmen were John Prestash of Philipsburg, Pa., and Josh Mrvelj of Cincinnati. Guests were ushered by Joe Pielech II of Boca Raton, Fla., brother of the groom, and Brian Banfield of Akron, the bride's brother, who also escorted his sister down the aisle.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's a degree in education. She is a physical-education teacher and softball coach at Hendersonville High School in North Carolina.
The groom, a construction services manager with S & amp;ME in Asheville, graduated from YSU with a degree in engineering.
