Children Services to study performance audit

YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the Mahoning County Children Services Board will meet today to go over a preliminary performance audit that its executive director says has a "positive conclusion."

The audit will help with the 0.85-mill, five-year renewal levy on the general November ballot.

The levy is not a new tax and will generate about $1.7 million a year.

Denise E. Stewart, CSB executive director, said at Tuesday's board meeting that the conclusion of the audit shows the organization would benefit from continued support.

Members of the Mahoning County CSB also noted upcoming events:

*St. Elizabeth's will provide health services from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10 in the parking lot of the MCCS office.

*A workshop for educators will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 10. Almost 40 school administrators are signed up for the workshop.
