Youngstown Babe Ruth drops Indiana, 18-4

NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- Four players had big offensive games to help the Youngstown 14-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team defeat Indiana, 18-4, in the Babe Ruth regional tournament.
Jamie Shepard had three hits, and Jason Bagoly and Corey Hill each had two hits for the winners. Anthony Franceschelli added a two-run double.
Shawn Roman pitched with relief help from Shane Wagner.
Today at 5:30 p.m., Youngstown plays Kentucky.
Double A
WARREN -- The Canton Stallions defeated the Tri-County Diamonds 8-0 to win AABC Stan Musial Tournament first division.
The Stallions also defeated the Akron Shockers 18-1 in the event.
Tournament MVP Jamie Palumbo went 2-for-3 with a double in the title game. In the tournament he went 14-for-22 with a homer, four doubles and 11 RBIs.
Tim Parker doubled five times and hit .500 in the tournament for the Stallions.
In a second division game, Ryan Dillon had three hits with a double as Warren Champion Molded Plastics beat Sharon Cox Painting, 11-3.
