A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield City and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD

July 23

Breaking and entering: The auto shop at Harv's Cars, 650 W. Main St. was broken into. A lock box in the main office was broken open and $160 in cash stolen. There was damage to a large garage door where entry was gained.

July 24

Criminal mischief: A residence in the 300 block of Callahan Road was damaged by several BB dents to the rear siding of the house.

July 25

Assault: An ex-employee of Canfield Collision Custom, 650 W. Main St., told police he was assaulted by another employee. He said he had quit his job and returned to pick-up his pay check when the assault occurred.

July 28

Drugs, paraphernalia: A 30-year-old Warren man was arrested on North Broad Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, obtaining and possessing, using and concealing. Seized were suspected marijuana and cigarette papers.

Drug possession: A 34-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on charges of drug abuse, using, consuming, distributing and selling and possession of drug paraphernalia on North Broad Street. Police recovered seven sets of state collectible coins, and found a digital scale with suspected cocaine, a bottle of 65 Vicodin and one gram of cocaine.

AUSTINTOWN

July 25

Theft from auto: A diamond ring and a compact disc player were stolen from an auto in the 2000 block of Elm Trace Street.

Theft: Keys were taken from a drop box at Penske Truck Rental, 350 Victoria Road.

Theft from auto: A Sony stereo was taken from an auto in the 4000 block of Crabwood Drive.

Theft from auto: Miscellaneous change was stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Crabwood Drive.

Drug Offense: A Campbell man was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Burkey and Meridian roads.

Burglary: A stolen property list was to be completed after a burglary at an apartment in the 300 block of South Raccoon Road.

Drug Offense: An Austintown man was charged at Mahoning Avenue and Raccoon Road with marijuana drug abuse .

July 26

Theft: Fuel was stolen at the BP gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Fuel was taken from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Scrap metal was taken by the occupant of a green Ford pick-up from Main Steel, 3805 Hendricks Road.

Attempted theft: Damage to a door handle was reported on a vehicle in the 3000 block of Dunbar Avenue.

Theft from auto: A vehicle was broken into in the 5000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

July 27

Theft from auto: A Pioneer compact disc player and speakers were taken from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Burglary: A burglary was reported in the 2000 block of Penny Lane. Suspects are a Middle Eastern man and a Middle Eastern woman in an older gray vehicle.

Theft: Thirty-two railroad ties were taken from the 1300 block of North Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Clothing was taken from the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Burglary: Entry was gained through a window and cash stolen at apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

July 28

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: A wallet, $600 in cash and a DVD player were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A woman reported $70 taken from a purse at Super 8, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive. Two women who are co-workers of the victim are accused.

Theft: A wallet was taken from a table at Pizza Hut, 5332 Mahoning Ave.

Attempted theft: A man in his 20s attempted to take a purse from a buggy in the parking lot at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Four tires and rims were taken from Youngstown Bolt, 340 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: A wooden moose was stolen from the 30 block of Benton Avenue.

July 29

Theft: A 40-foot extension ladder was stolen from the 5000 block of Westgate Boulevard.

Theft: Gasoline was stolen from the BP gas station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A woman was arrested on theft charges at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

July 30

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle, theft: A 2000 Dodge Stratus and U.S. currency were taken by a live-in boyfriend in the 4000 block of Raccoon Road.

Burglary: A purse and jewelry were taken from the 3000 block of South Meridian Road.

Theft: Money was removed from an account in the 2000 block of Amberly Avenue.

July 31

Theft: Seventeen gallons of gasoline worth $37 were stolen from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Breaking and entering: Tools were taken in the 70 block of North Inglewood Avenue.

Burglary: The point of entry is unknown in a break-in in the 900 block of Compass West apartments.

Criminal damaging: A glass basement window was damaged in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Burglary: A coin collection was stolen from the 6000 block of Ridgeview Drive.
