SCOPE Inc. will hold its first Society of Honors luncheon at noon June 7 at Ciminero's Banquet

SCOPE Inc. will hold its first Society of Honors luncheon at noon June 7 at Ciminero's Banquet Centre, 123 Main St., Niles. Cost is $20 per person, and reservations are due June 1. Mail checks payable to the center to SCOPE Inc., 220 W. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44481.

SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 8273 High St. N.E., Warren, activities are as follows: Monday, Gourmet Club will meet off site for a gourmet picnic and planning session; May 11, a dinner dance, with the doors opening at 6 p.m., a buffet at 6:30 and dancing at 7:30, cost is $10 per person, and reservations are limited to 65; May 13, golfers meeting at 9:30 a.m.; May 17, Kitchen Gals book club from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the selection is "The Lady and the Unicorn"; and May 26, bocce players meeting at 5 p.m. The Travel Bugs group has planned two motorcoach excursions: a mystery tour will depart at 8 a.m. May 26 and return around 5 p.m., cost is $59 per person and includes breakfast, lunch, transportation and entry fees; and a colonial journey June 20-23, cost is $495 per person and includes six meals, lodging, motorcoach, entry fees and stops at Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Norfolk Navy Yard, Monticello and the World War II Memorial in Washington. SCOPE Niles Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has the following activities available each week: Monday, computer classes for beginners at 9 and 11 a.m.; quilting group and cards at 1 p.m.; and cards and games at 6 p.m., cost is $2. Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., cost is $3; lunch at 11:30 a.m., cost is $3 for members and $4 for guests, or lunch and bowling the last week, cost is $6; cards at 1 p.m. the first, second and third weeks, preregistration required; and blood pressure screening the first and third weeks and pinochle at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, foot care from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. the third week; Pokeno, Tripoli and 500 at 9:30 a.m.; tai chi at 10 a.m., the cost is $5, starting time is 9 a.m. the third week; lunch at 11:30 a.m., cost is $3 for members and $4 for guests, with a VIP lunch the third week; bingo at 1 p.m. and cards at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m., cost is $3; lunch at 11:30 a.m., cost is $3 for members and $4 for guests; pinochle and bridge at 1 p.m. and blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. the third week. Friday, gourmet group at 9 a.m.; Microsoft Word computer class at 9:30 a.m.; harmonica instruction at 11 a.m.; lunch leftovers at 11:30 a.m., cost is $1; and mixed chorus at 1 p.m. the second week; and Sunday, hoe-down at 7 p.m. the first week, cost is $3. The next five-week series of computer classes for beginners will start April 11. Classes are held from 9 and 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for others. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the following: Monday, bridge and follies at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting and computer classes and exercises at 10 a.m., blood pressure screening and computer class at noon, chorus at 12:30 p.m. and digital class at 2; Wednesday, watercolor and computer classes at 10 a.m., computer class and tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m. and 500 cards at 1; Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Hugs & amp; Stitches Sewing Group at 10, blood pressure screenings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 3; and Friday, exercises at 10 a.m., outing to Riverfront Restaurant at 10:30 and crafts at 12:30 p.m. On May 16 Tom Gilmartin Sr. will present a poetry program, "Back to Basics," at 11 a.m. A light lunch and tea will be served, and a prettiest hat contest will be held. Reservations are needed by May 9, call the center at (330) 744-5071. The center has applications for the SBC Lifeline Ohio telephone discount program for $12.38 a month to eligible applicants.
