Malone students set to spur laughs

CANTON -- Malone College's team of sketch comedians -- the Yellow Light Runners -- will be at it again Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Hall. The public is welcome to attend. Donations will be taken to benefit the world relief organization Remember Nhu, an international nonprofit agency dedicated to rescuing young girls in Southeast Asia from the sex-trade industry.
In addition, a carwash -- also to benefit Remember Nhu -- will be held on the campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at 515 25th St. N.W. For more information, call Suzanne Thomas at (330) 471-8240, or visit the college Web site at www.malone.edu.
Yellow Light Runner sketches are led by Malone seniors Joseph Hartzler, of Baltic, and Seth Thomas, of Canton. Both students perform nationally with the professional improvisational comedy group "Isaac Improv" as well as in local comedy clubs, are involved with the College's MC Comedy Team and are award-winning student filmmakers.
Hartzler describes "The Yellow Light Runners" as "a dangerously witty ensemble that dances across a stage of cynicism and absurdity to the techno beats of the times. And also, they do some sketch comedy."
Yellow Light Runners' brand of comedy is family friendly.
