Tech center students join society

CANFIELD -- Thirty students from the Mahoning County Career & amp; Technical Center received one of the highest awards for excellence in work force education when they became the newest members of the National Technical Honor Society. The induction ceremony was held recently at the school.
The adviser for the local chapter is Linda Tomko of Warren, who is the MCCTC cosmetology teacher.
Junior inductees and the schools they represent are: Kathryn Bland, Boardman; Michelle Buck, Western Reserve; Dale Carter, Springfield; Bryan Filicky, Struthers; Robert Fleming, United Local; Jessica Groves, Struthers; Ron Ilich, Boardman; Alyssa Koval, Jackson-Milton; Britni Kulikowsky, Canfield; Nicole Mandalin, South Range; Deidrai McClary, Jackson-Milton; Michael McCray, Austintown Fitch; Caitlin Metzger, Western Reserve; Chelsea Pennington, Jackson-Milton; Justina Pesa, Struthers; Jamie Ruozzo, Lowellville; Megan Schuller, Jackson-Milton; Jasmine Soto, Campbell Memorial; Lauren Tanner, Canfield; Samantha Varkonyi, Jackson-Milton; Evan Vazquez, Poland; Ashley White, Western Reserve; Nikki Williams, South Range; Abbey Yannerella, Boardman; and Nicole Zarzycki, Boardman.

The honor society was founded in 1984 and rewards outstanding performance in technical education.
