BASEBALL

Marietta College Baseball Camp of Champs -- is returning to Pioneer Park this summer. Day camps for grades 2-8 will be held July 5-7, 12-14, 9-21. Residence/Commuter camp for grades 6-12 will be held on July 24-28. There is a repeat camper discount available for those attending more than one session per summer. A new Youngstown AA team -- is being created for players ages 19-24. For details, call (330) 534-0851.

Youngstown YMCA -- is forming a youth recreational league for ages 3-14. A clinic is set May 7 at the Rocky Ridge Fields in Mill Creek Park. The six-game season begins on June 4. BASKETBALL

North American Youth Sports -- still has openings for a youth basketball tournament June 3-5 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. There are five tournaments for girls entering grades 5-12. Entry fee is $250 with a five-game guarantee. Deadline is May 13. For details, call 1-800-787-3265.

Cardinal Mooney -- seeks two varsity boys basketball games for the 2005-06 season, preferably one home and one away Several dates are available. Call Don Bucci at (330) 788-9879.

Hiram College -- will have a skills camp on June 10-11 for boys enterting grades two-12. Price is $50. An instructional day camp is set July 11-15 for boys enterting grades two-eight. Price is $100. For details, call Tim Rice at (330) 569-5346.

Ashtabula Lakeside -- is seeking a head girls basketball coach and a head wrestling coach. Mount Union M Club -- will conduct an Excellence in Coaching Clinic on June 24-25. Dom Capers, coach of the Houston Texans, and former San Francisco 49ers defensive secondary coach Ron Lynn will join Mount Union coach Larry Kehres. Registration is $125 per person for on-campus residents and $100 for commuters or those staying off-campus. The Packard Electric Ladies -- league get acquainted meeting wille held at the Four Season's clubhouse April 18 at 6 p.m. Rulebooks that include schedules of events and dates for the season will be available. Members dont' have to be Delphi employees to join. Y.S.D. Golf League -- will start play April 27 at Dogwood Golf Course. A practice round will be held April 20, where teams and players will be selected. For details, contact Ed Pesce.

Mahoning Country Club -- is where Home Builders/Remodelers Association of Mahoning Valley will hold their annual golf league. Play begins April 20 and runs through Aug. 24. Dues are $40 per player. To register contact Josh Aikens at (330) 965-9779, ext. 204.

Mill Creek Girls League -- singups for girls ages 8-15 will be April 23 between Noon and 2 p.m. at Mill Creek Short Holes. Call Jerry Ferrell (330-797-0327) for information.

Holy Name Golf League will open its 39th season on April 25 ast 4:30 p.m. at Mahoning Country Club. A practice round will be held April 18.

VFW 7538 Tuesday League at Tanglewood Golf Course will hold a practice round on April 29, while league play begins April 26. For more informaton contact Bill Brozman at (330) 750-0642.

Jednota Friday League will start its season on April 29 at Tanglewood Golf Course. Tee times are 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

HOCKEY

North Hills Amateur Hockey Association -- will hold tryouts for the Pittsburgh Viper Stars Midget AAA Tier I travel program. Players must have been born between Jan. 1, 1987 and Dec. 31, 1990. Tryouts will be held throughout April and May. For details, call 724-335-9005.

SOFTBALL

Thunderplex in Vienna -- is holding team signups for its summer midweek fastpitch league that runs June 6-July 22. The season consists of 20 games played in doubleheaders plus a tournament. Fee is $600 per team. Games are played on Mondays and Thursday. There are also signups for its Monday summer men's slowpitch league. The season consists of 16 games played in doubleheaders. Firestone Stadium in Akron -- is where a USSSA National Qualifier for Classes D and E will be April 30-May 1. Cost is $150. For details, call John Jubara (330-724-8756) or Bill Jubara (330-289-2328).

Kent State University Allerton Sports Complex -- will be where a USSSA Early Bird state qualifier will be on Saturday and Sunday. The double-elimination tournament is for class C, D and E teams. Entry fee is $150 plus sanction. For more information, contact Leo Kreyenbuhl at (330) 431-0203.

Massillon Early Bird Tournament -- will be held May 7-8. Teams are guaranteed four games with no home run limit. Cost is $125 with a registration deadline of April 25. For details, call Greg Mytinger at 330-832-1621.

Alliance Early Bird Tournament -- will be April 23-24 at Silver & amp; Butler Rodman Parks. Cost is $145 plus sanction fee. To enter, call Floyd at 330-823-2008.

TRAINING CLINIC
