BASEBALL Rosko's career day lifts Canfield past Struthers
Adam Wigley tripled and got the win as Poland beat Salem.
STRUTHERS --Joe Rosko pitched six shutout innings, striking out a career-high 14, as the Canfield High baseball team defeated Struthers, 13-1, Tuesday in a Metro Athletic Conference game at Cene Park.
Kyle Banna had three hits, including two doubles, and Drew Turocy and Matt Guerrieri each added three hits for the Cardinals (3-1).
C.J. Morris and Tom Ivany each had two hits as the Cardinals had 15 hits.
For Struthers (0-3), Steve Kodwan doubled.
Poland 12, Salem 5
SALEM -- Winning pitcher Adam Wigley struck out six batters and tripled for the Bulldogs (3-3, 1-0 MAC).
Tom Clayton's two hits included a double.
For the Quakers (2-1, 0-1), Ben Miller homered and Jarin Heath doubled.
Howland 11,Edgewood 4
HOWLAND -- Frank Solich scattered eight hits and Jarred Bartholomew hit a pair of two-run homers for the Tigers (2-0).
Tony Pozega drove in two RBIs with three hits. Brendan Solarz also had two RBIs.

WARREN -- Winning pitcher Tom Popadak had two hits and two RBIs. Pete Zock hit a double and single. Barry Adkins also had two hits.
Newton Falls 2, Warren JFK 1
NEWTON FALLS -- Brad Blevins pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out six and walking two for Newton Falls (2-2).
T.J. Balint and Mike Pelyak scored runs for the Tigers while George Davis had an RBI single.
Josh Cooper went the distance for Kennedy (0-6), striking out seven and walking two. Marc Rossi added two hits.
Western Reserve 3, McDonald 1
McDONALD -- Corey Vukovic (1-0) scattered four hits and struck out 15 for McDonald (1-1, 1-1 Inter-County League) to pick up the win.
Vukovic also aided his own cause with two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Steven Hughes hit a pair of singles, drove in a run and scored once.
Brock Christie hit a double and single for Western Reserve (0-1).
Louisville 3, West Branch 0
LOUISVILLE -- Heath Hinkle (2-0) scattered seven hits and struck out 10 for the Leopards (4-1, 3-0, Northeastern Buckeye Conference).
The Warriors (3-1, 2-1) outhit the Leopards 10-7, with J.R. Gibson 2-for-4 with a double and losing pitcher Tad Gaspar 2-for-2 with a double.
Paul Aslanides, Kyle Smith and Jordan Johnson each had two hits for Louisville.
