AUSTINTOWN -- Local author Sean Barron is the speaker at the First Ohio Chapter of the Federation of Families for Children meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the D & amp;E Clinic, 142 Javit Court. WIC-sponsored clinics
YOUNGSTOWN -- Clinics, open to participants of the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC) and the public, and offering nutrition education and activities, are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays beginning March 20. The clinics are sponsored by the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership-WIC, which provides nutrition education and supplemental foods, at no cost, to eligible pregnant women, women with infants under 6 months of age, breast-feeding women, infants and children living in Mahoning County who are at nutritional risk, and families who meet income guidelines. CPR courses scheduled
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- UPMC Horizon offers a Heartsaver Adult/Automatic External Defibrillator CPR and a Pediatric CPR course from 6 to 10 p.m. March 22 and March 25, respectively, at UPMC Horizon's Greenville facility. Health system to be topic
SALEM -- "Money, Morality and the American Health Care System" is the topic of a presentation by Doris Edwards, a registered nurse and dean emeritus of the Capital University School of Nursing, at the March 24 meeting of District Three, Ohio Nurses Association, at Timberlanes Restaurant, 544 E. Villa Maria health series
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- EverGreen and Villa Maria Sister Services offers "Eating Grass: Health or Harm?" as part of their Complementary Health Series. The event focusing on the use of natural ingredients in medical treatment is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Villa Maria Community Center. The presenter is James Graham, manager of clinical pharmacy services at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. No registration is required. The event is free, but donations are welcome. Honoring older workers
BEATTYVILLE, KY. -- Experience Works, the country's largest provider of mature-worker training and employment, is searching for Ohio's outstanding older worker to be honored during a prime-time awards program Oct. 5-9 in Washington.
Businesses and individuals may nominate a worker who is 65 or older, a resident of Ohio, currently employed, and working at least 20 hours a week for pay.
