CLUB CALENDAR



CLUBS
XOhio Cultural Alliance will hold a dinner and meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Austintown. The speaker will be Dr. John Boehm, and the Saxon Club's Concordia Chorus will present the program. Membership is $25, and the cost for the meeting is $11 for paid up members and $16 for nonmembers. Sept. 8 is the deadline for mailing checks, payable to the alliance, to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, Ohio 44406-0561.
XWarren Women's Connection will hold a "Tea For You" breakfast buffet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at Aulizio's banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown-Warren Road. Linda Harrah will speak on "Tea Parties," and music will be provided by Cathy Bowker. The cost is $10. Reservations for the breakfast and free nursery are required by Sept. 9 and can be made by calling Joyce Faiver, (330) 539-5837, or Diana Pishotti, (330) 638-1386.
XYoungstown South Christian Women's Club will hold a "Country Fair" luncheon from noon to 1:45 p.m. Sept. 9 at Antone's Banquet Centre in Boardman. There will be a live auction with Marty Campana, and guest speaker will be Johnny Kay. Cost is $9 per person, and reservations must be made by Thursday by calling (330) 726-4838.
LIBRARY FRIENDS
XFriends of Poland Library will hold a picnic at 10 a.m. Sept. 7 at the library meeting room. Those attending are asked to take a covered dish. The speaker will be Margaret Murphy of Wick Neighbors Inc., and a lunch will follow. Guests are welcome. Items are being accepted for the used book cart.
SERVICE CLUBS
XDowntown Youngstown Kiwanis Club will meet at noon Friday at the YMCA. The program will be a Labor Day roundtable.
SINGLESXOriginal Christian Singles will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at Glenwood Methodist Church. Those attending are asked to note the change in the meeting date due to Labor Day. There will be musical entertainment by Kelly Williams and Friends, and those attending are to take a casserole. For information call (330) 533-3938, (330) 755-4680 or (330) 729-3315. The group is open to all single, widowed or divorced persons age 35 and up.
SOCIETIES
XGirard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.
XClub news is published on Fridays and Saturdays. Please submit information about upcoming activities to the Society Department by 5 p.m. each Thursday.
