GIRARD
Aug. 22
Theft/recovered property: A Honda three-wheel vehicle was recovered in some underbrush in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue after a man in the 500 block of Trumbull Avenue reported it stolen from behind a toolshed in his back yard.
Criminal mischief: A man called police after someone tossed four eggs and struck his home in the 600 block of Saint Clair Avenue.
Theft: A woman in the 200 block of East Kline Street called police after discovering a wooden door to a vacant home next door to her had been removed. Another wooden door also was discovered missing.
Theft/criminal damage: A Youngstown man reported his vehicle's passenger-side window broken and its back seat damaged at his residence in the 600 block of East Kline Street. A CD case and two cartons of cigarettes were stolen.
Theft/criminal damage: A vehicle's driver's-side window was found broken in the 600 block of East Kline, and several CDs and a stereo were missing.
Aug. 23
Theft/criminal damage: A man discovered a $125 lawn ornament had been removed from his residence in the 200 block of Illinois Avenue. He found it smashed in the road, and noticed that its wooden stand was missing.
Theft: A woman in the 40 block of Stambaugh Street discovered a prescription for 90 Valium tablets had been taken from her home.
Theft/recovered property: A bicycle was returned to its owner after a man in the 40 block of Hancock Street reported it stolen in the 100 block of West Howard Street.
Aug. 24
Criminal mischief: A man noticed that someone hit the side of the Girard Senior Citizens Club Inc., 16 N. Main St., with several packets of barbecue sauce, causing minor damage.
Assault: A Niles man reported that, as he performed work to a residence in the 1700 block of Squaw Creek Drive, another man grabbed the victim around the throat and ripped his T-shirt after the two argued about a baseball cap.
Criminal damage: A woman said her boyfriend, 23, tossed her purse, striking and breaking a window at her apartment in the 20 block of Prospect Street.
LIBERTY
Aug. 17
Stolen property: While attempting to serve a warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of Logan Way, police reported that two pickup trucks pulled into the driveway and that a $5,000 all-terrain vehicle, determined to have been stolen in Niles, was on one of the trucks.
Theft: An employee at Fashion Bug, 3551 Belmont Ave., said a Youngstown woman, 46, took three women's wristwatches worth a total of $114.
Theft: A Girard woman returned to Save-A-Lot, 3551 Belmont Ave., to retrieve her purse, but noticed that someone had removed her Ohio driver's license, a Social Security card, a credit card, some change and other items.
Aug. 18
Auto theft: A Hubbard man reported his 2000 Pontiac Grand Am stolen from the Liberty Plaza parking lot, 3551 Belmont Ave.
Aug. 19
Arrest: Police arrested a 21-year-old New Castle, Pa., man at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., on three felony charges -- one each of escape (Lawrence County, Pa.), drug possession and obstructing official business. Officers say the suspect also gave them a false name.
Recovered property: Police recovered a 1989 Buick Park Avenue in the Holiday Inn MetroPlex parking lot, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, after it had been reported stolen. The vehicle's steering column and driver's-side door lock had been damaged.
Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 29, surrendered to police and was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft.
Aug. 20
Vehicle theft: A Blauvelt, N.Y., man discovered his 1988 Jeep Cherokee stolen while he was at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 2000 block of Crestwood Boulevard reported someone used a rock to break her vehicle's driver's-side window, and that a key had been used to damage the finish on its front and rear driver's-side doors. Damage was estimated at $400.
Aug. 21
Criminal damage: A man in the 1800 block of Pleasant Valley Road called police after someone used black paint to damage a "No trespassing" sign at the end of Lucretia Drive.
Criminal damage: A man in the 1500 block of Harding Avenue told police someone had used a sharp object to scratch his car's paint on its hood and right fender while the vehicle was parked in the 1600 block.
Drugs: After pulling over a vehicle for making an illegal left turn near Belmont Avenue and Interstate 80, police cited a 27-year-old Warren woman on a charge of drug abuse. Officers say they detected an odor of suspected marijuana in the car and that she had a small bag on her lap containing suspected marijuana.
Aug. 22
Theft: An employee at Wendy's, 4001 Belmont Ave., discovered a $198.67 shortage after adding up the day's receipt total.
Recovered property: A 1990 Olds 98 was recovered in the 3800 block of Belmont Avenue after a Youngstown man reported it stolen.
Assault: A Hubbard man said a 25-year-old Youngstown man struck him in the back of the head with a beer bottle as the victim left Shaker's Bar & amp; Grill, 4520 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A man reported a $125 stereo had been removed from his car parked near his home in the 200 block of Warner Road.
Theft: A Canfield woman reported her purse stolen while she was at Dollar General, 3551 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A woman in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road discovered a pair of aluminum running boards valued at $100 stolen from her car.
