Man is charged with assault

STRUTHERS -- Daniel P. Naples, 43, of Cleveland is in the Mahoning County Jail on $2,000 bond pending his trial Sept. 3 on charges of assault and criminal damaging-endangering.
Judge James R. Lanzo set Naples' bond at $1,000 for each of the charges.
Police say Naples forced his way into a home in the 400 block of Eighth Street on Saturday evening, punched a hole in a wall, broke a screen, and grabbed a 45-year-old woman around the throat and demanded money and sex.
The report states that earlier Naples had been drinking with the owners of a Midlothian Boulevard business at their establishment. When he became belligerent, the report says, the owners asked him to leave. Shortly thereafter, the report continues, he forced his way through their back door, punched the woman in the face and demanded sex.
In the ensuing struggle, the report says, a gun was knocked from the top of the refrigerator and may have been taken by Naples, who fled on foot.
The couple went after him, locating him on Midlothian Boulevard after he left the Eighth Street address.
