PEP Local 4 schedules golf outing at Pine Lakes
A variety of prizes will be awarded to players.
HUBBARD -- The Professional Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics Local 4 will sponsor the seventh annual J.B. deSaulles Memorial Golf Outing on Sept. 10 at Pine Lakes Golf Course.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital in Youngstown.
The four-player scramble will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Fee is $65 per person, and registration deadline is Aug. 31. The fee includes a continental breakfast, 18 holes of golf with cart, prizes, lunch at the turn and dinner.
Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, longest putt and a 50-50 ball drop (weather permitting), and a $10,000 cash prize for a hole-in-one on a par 3 will be determined by the Pine Lakes golf pro. Other prizes for a hole-in-one on a par 3 will include a desktop computer, set of irons and round-trip domestic airline tickets for two.

The event is named for J.B. deSaulles, a firefighter and emergency medical technician who joined the Boardman Fire Department in 1955. He became assistant chief in 1961 and served until his retirement in 1995. He also served as director of safety for Rural/Metro Ambulance, which previously sponsored the golf outing.
He was a lifetime member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 1176 and was also active with the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Youngstown Humane Society and American Diabetes Association.
