NBC seeks 'Extreme Reunion' participants
NBC has begun a casting call for a one-time special that reunites family members and friends who have lost touch with one another.
This being unscripted TV, though, it's not just a reunion. It's "Extreme Reunion."
The special, produced by LMNO Productions ("Race to the Altar," "Boot Camp"), is designed to bring family members, old friends and perhaps a long-lost love or two together for the first time in a long time -- all with cameras running, of course. And, oh yeah, the reunions will be done "in spectacular and exciting ways that will change lives forever," NBC says.
The producers are working with MyFamily.com, which provides resources for families to keep in touch and research their roots, on "Extreme Reunion," which Eric Schotz, president and CEO of LMNO, calls "a new generation of reality programming."
"What makes these reunions extreme is the scope of the story, the element of surprise and the race against time to get people reunited," he says.
