Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles again
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Grammys will be held in Los Angeles for a second consecutive year.
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced this week that its 47th annual ceremony honoring the best in music will take place at the Staples Center arena Feb. 13.
Grammy chief Neil Portnow said in a prepared statement that he looked forward to working with city officials to pull off "one of the most electrifying, exciting events in live television."
The Grammys also bring a monthlong series of festivities before the telecast that includes performances, exhibits, workshops and educational activities.
CBS will telecast the Grammy Awards live. Nominees are set to be announced Dec. 8 in Los Angeles.
More than 26 million people tuned in for this year's Grammys, according to the academy.
